Winthrop Camping Weekend!

Over this last weekend we traveled over to Winthrop and camped on Pearrygin Lake and on the Chewuch River. The first night Eddy and I camped on Pearrygin lake and enjoyed some alone time. Day two we hooked up with our friends Chuck and Jamie and moved camp over to the edge of the Chewuch River. We had an AMAZING time! Jamie, Chuck and I taught Eddy how to play crib and he caught on quite quickly! We hiked up to the waterfalls above the river and enjoyed some spectacular views. The weather was hot and cold, very inconsistent. I LOVE camping and everything that goes along with it. Cooking on a propane stove and over the campfire. Playing cards and telling stories. Just enjoying time spent with no distractions. I look forward to many years ahead of camping as a family! Can't wait to take Dylan! Wish we could do it every weekend!

Life is good, maybe even great.

I spent my day Saturday smiling as I cleaned my house and hung pictures. Giddy on the inside and continually thanking God for his blessing on my life. I feel almost euphoric when it comes to the state of content I am in. I wake up each morning thanking God for my husband, son, friends, family, job, home, bible study group and volunteer work that has changed my life. It's difficult at times to get out of the self-serving mode that we are constantly being pulled into. Society and human nature have made us selfish seekers of complete independence. In learning to depend more on God and less on myself and my husband, I am finding true fulfillment. We have aspects of our lives where we are tested, not by God, but frustrating issues that we have to choose how to deal with. We have to consciously choose to give each thing to God each day and relish in our lives. The blessings we have are abundant. No amount of money or material item can ever fill the pieces of our hearts that are filled by God and love. The real gift is no matter what is going on in our lives, no matter how frustrating or diificult it may be, it's quite easy to look beyond it to bigger and better things. "O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you." Psalm 89:8

Real Men Cry

He'd die if he knew I exposed him.... But I know women are the only ones who tend to read these and appreciate a man who adores his bride so much it brings him to tears ;). I love him so much. I tell him real men cry, without reservation. I find it totally sexy.

So begins the journey......

Here we are, one month into our marriage, still pinching ourselves. Neither of us would have ever dreamt this was all part of God's great plan for our lives but in no way doubt He intended this for us. The cliche saying "All things happen for a reason" rings true in our case.

Our stories are very similar in many ways, yet quite different in others. Eddy and I both come out of situations that were devastating and left us both a little beat down. When you are going through these times, it is sometimes very hard to see what good may come from them. We can now look back and understand to a degree why we had to go through each obstacle, as each one strengthened our faith and shaped our character. In this, we were being prepared to be the best possible life partners we could be for one another. I thank God for the path that led me to Eddy, for every heartbreak and trial.

New blog for a new start, can't wait to share our journey with you!
