Port Townsend Trip

Jetsetters, yes that right. Okay, so we may be jetsetting to very low key places. Granted, we're not taking fancy leer jets, yet the ferry system is much nicer than people think. Here are a few pictures from our most recent getaway to Port Townsend. It was so beautiful! We got to spend a day at Fort Worden, a huge civil war camp, which we both loved. We stayed in a beautiful suite at the Inn at Port Hadlock (courtesy of Natalie, thanks Nat!!). What a wonderful, relaxing time to be together!

Special Couple

Here are a few very sweet pictures we took together on our trip. I think they turned out quite nicely, but I am obviously bias.

More amazing San Juan Shots

San Juan Island Trip

So, Eddy and I took a jaunt over to Friday Harbor for 3 days this past weekend. The weather was beautiful at times, and not so beautiful at other times. We still managed to get some amazing pictures. Here's a fun little game for you... Guess which ones I took and which ones Eddy took.

My new pets and more

We have recently acquired some new pets. Our wonderfully annoying cat, Yewie, is very jealous of my new found friends because he's lucky to avoid a kick from me on my way into the house each evening. Many of our hunting friends have drooled over my stories of the many bucks frolicking in our yard but have been warned of impending injury if they attempt to harm my furry friends.

Honeymoon Flight Museum Trip

Eddy and I are both passionate WWII buffs. Pretty cool, I know. It worked out well for us to have this shared passion though, as there was a really amazing flight museum in Palm Springs. We had the opportunity to chat with a couple different men and women who fought for our country in WWII and spent hours looking at planes and jets from all wars. It was truly exciting!! It was one of the most fun days I've ever had. It's so neat that we share something like this. Plus, if one of us was not at all interested in old fighter jets and war planes, it would have made for a LONG DAY. ;)

Views

I have been blessed with God's view of Whatcom County from our backyard. I've kept a collection of photos I've snapped over the last year that have taken my breath away... May have to post again there are SO many. Enjoy God's beautiful creation.

July 4th!

We had the pleasure of hosting our first "party" (does Thanksgiving count?) for the 4th. We had about 50 people over to celebrate with us by BBQing and lighting off fireworks. The wonderful blessing about our place is we can see everyone else's as well!!! It was a fun way to have people come see all the changes we've made over the last couple of months with the house. We are eager to bless others in the future with fun parties and events at the house. Plus, Eddy and I both love Independence Day and place so much importance in honoring our heroes. God Bless America and the people who step up and protect her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the words of Lee Greenwood "I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died and gave that right to me. " ;)

Honeymoon!

Took me long enough to get these in my computer... Between Relay For Life wrapping up for this year and preparing for next year's event it's been busy!! Here are some shots from our California trip, such a great experience for us. We really got to enjoy each other's company without the distractions of everyday life. Can't wait to do it again. We're going to Kauai next May, as I am personal attendent to my friend jamie for her wedding! Can't come fast enough ;)

Winthrop Camping Weekend!

Over this last weekend we traveled over to Winthrop and camped on Pearrygin Lake and on the Chewuch River. The first night Eddy and I camped on Pearrygin lake and enjoyed some alone time. Day two we hooked up with our friends Chuck and Jamie and moved camp over to the edge of the Chewuch River. We had an AMAZING time! Jamie, Chuck and I taught Eddy how to play crib and he caught on quite quickly! We hiked up to the waterfalls above the river and enjoyed some spectacular views. The weather was hot and cold, very inconsistent. I LOVE camping and everything that goes along with it. Cooking on a propane stove and over the campfire. Playing cards and telling stories. Just enjoying time spent with no distractions. I look forward to many years ahead of camping as a family! Can't wait to take Dylan! Wish we could do it every weekend!

Life is good, maybe even great.

I spent my day Saturday smiling as I cleaned my house and hung pictures. Giddy on the inside and continually thanking God for his blessing on my life. I feel almost euphoric when it comes to the state of content I am in. I wake up each morning thanking God for my husband, son, friends, family, job, home, bible study group and volunteer work that has changed my life. It's difficult at times to get out of the self-serving mode that we are constantly being pulled into. Society and human nature have made us selfish seekers of complete independence. In learning to depend more on God and less on myself and my husband, I am finding true fulfillment. We have aspects of our lives where we are tested, not by God, but frustrating issues that we have to choose how to deal with. We have to consciously choose to give each thing to God each day and relish in our lives. The blessings we have are abundant. No amount of money or material item can ever fill the pieces of our hearts that are filled by God and love. The real gift is no matter what is going on in our lives, no matter how frustrating or diificult it may be, it's quite easy to look beyond it to bigger and better things. "O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you." Psalm 89:8
